Five Ways to add Extra Cozy

5 ways to add extra cozyI’ll be the first to admit that I prefer warmer weather.  If it were up to me, it would snow on Christmas, and that’s it.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I think snow is beautiful.  We have already had a few flurries in the Midwest, but nothing too awful yet.  I get as excited over the first big snow just like most children, but it’s the long months to follow that wear me down.  With that being said, I LOVE creating A L L   T H I N G S   C O Z Y!!  In this post, I am sharing five ways to add extra cozy during these colder months.

Five Ways to add Extra Cozy

5 ways to add extra cozy - throws

Throw Blankets

One item I believe is essential when creating extra cozy is the use of throw blankets.  They are both pretty and practical.  Having several blankets available by draping them on your furniture and having them in baskets near by is inviting and visually appealing.

Faux Fur

I mean, talk about COZY!! Faux fur is welcoming, but doubles as eye candy.  I added this extra rug, by the tree, and it speaks, “come curl up here with hot chocolate”.  Even Wrigley is lured by it’s luxurious appearance. I love adding layers of texture when designing a space, and faux fur has been an element I use on repeat.

Extra Pillows

Now, I’m not going to give an excuses to my pillow hoarding.  I’ll be the first to admit that I have an over abundance of throw pillows.

Here’s why:

  • Throw pillows are an easy and affordable way to add character.
  • Layering several creates depth and interest.
  • They invite you into the space.
  • They provide a place to lay your head when napping (along with that cozy throw).

Area Rugs

The main purpose to incorporating area rugs is to provide warmth and cozy to any given space, and I couldn’t agree more!  My newest obsession is this new rug from Mohawk Homescapes.  Just look at the exquisite pattern and texture it adds! Glenn and I couldn’t believe how plush it felt underneath our feet when we unrolled it.

The luxurious Francesca area rug from Mohawk Home showcases exquisite design details through its texture and stunning sheen finish. The neutral cream hue is perfect for almost any setting. The Francesca offers the upmost in quality and durability with Mohawk Home’s woven construction. Our premium yarns are interwoven to form the vivid colorations and distinctive design details you see today.

We have carpet throughout most of our house, minus the kitchen, bathrooms, and one hallway. I still love the way area rugs layer with existing carpet even though most people use them over top hard floors.

This rug, The Francesca, from Mohawk Homescapes exceeded my expectations with it’s superb character.  Not only does it showcase an exquisite design, but it’s lush texture has me wanting to curl up on the floor!! I was so impressed when we unrolled it and found it to be of the upmost quality and durability.

Twinkly Lights

Lastly, and certainly NOT least, twinkly lights just make any room seem instantly more cozy and serene. The sweet thing about twinkly lights is you don’t need a pattern. Fairy lights just tossed array look beautiful.  One of the reasons I like to decorate for Christmas early is due to the pure magic the holiday lights provide.  Daylight savings can be a real downer, so I try to channel that dread into anticipation of evenings spent surrounded by twinklies.

This is fabulous. Would you offer any marketing material that I could have to display in our center? Our clients would appreciate your standards.
