Don’t you love it when a plan starts coming together? Eeek!! After waiting a month, our new outdoor furniture has FINALLY arrived! Is it hard to believe that I get this excited about home decor? I offer no excuse, it just brings me joy to create pretty spaces. I hope I’m not alone and y’all don’t think I’m crazy… if you do, don’t tell me! I’m so excited to debut my cozy deck update <3
My Cozy Deck Update is an Extension
My first desire when creating a new space is that it flows with the rest of the house. I want our outdoor spaces to be an extension of the inside. A few months ago, I began the design process for a cozy deck update, and I originally just planned on new outdoor rugs and a few new pillows. You can check out my design boards here if you are interested in ideas.
But then Glenn piped in and asked if we couldn’t get a larger outdoor sofa set, because our current one was quite small. Umm, sure we can darling 😉 When the hubby actually voices his opinion regarding design elements, my ears perk up! And no, he still doesn’t have a problem with the pink accents 🙂
Worth the Wait!
After Glenn added his 2 cents, I promptly moved the previous sectional to our front porch 😀 You can see it in all it’s glory here <3 It fit just perfect, and we absolutely love it!
My search for the new sofa seating began by returning to Overstock.com because we had good luck before. I knew I wanted gray this time to match the deck, and I wanted a set that was multi-functional. I just didn’t realize it would take a month to finally arrive!
(This post is not sponsored by Overstock.com, I just love this grouping and wanted to share it with you.)
Multiple Cozy Possibilities
This cozy set was worth the wait, and it’s just AMAZEBALLS!!
- Super Charming for multiple conversation seating.
- Scooch the pieces together into a cozy sectional.
- Pop the ottoman on the end to create a chaise, or use it standing alone for extra seating.
- Take the glass top off and build a square with all the pieces and gaze at the stars.
I plan on trying all these possibilities, and will most likely update you as I go, but for now I love it like this.
On to the Accessories
Do you find it difficult to find outdoor pillows that you love? Indoor pillows, no problem.. outdoor pillows are a real struggle for this girl. So, I am here to tell you that only one pillow pictured in this grouping is outdoor ready. I know, I know… but I promise they will be safe.
How, you ask? I scotch-guarded them! Liz, owner of LizMarieBlog suggested this recently, so I went for it! I made sure the pillows I bought had zippers so the covers could be removed. I scotch-guarded the pillows, all the cushions, and the towel turned throw 😉 Now, if I am home and aware a rain storm is approaching, I am going to try really hard to bring them inside!
Speaking of throw, is it not the cutest? It’s actually a Turkish Beach Towel from Enchante Home, so it’s absorbent, and fast drying! It measures 36×67 (with fringe) which makes it’s perfect doubling as an outdoor throw blanket. Plus, it’s super soft! In fact, they tell me it gets softer with each wash. Enchante Home has an entire website filled with gorgeous textiles made in Turkey, so make sure to check them out this summer!
I was so disappointed to realize this sofa set is currently out of stock. I went ahead and linked it so you can find it and have Overstock email you when it’s back in stock if you are interested. See below for links to most of the products shown.
I do hope you like our cozy deck update as much as we do! We will be spending hours out here, and can’t wait to entertain family and friends. I’m sure I’ll be popping on frequently with a new re-arrangement, and a summer recipe or 2 😀
