The Countdown Begins
Now that Christmas has come and gone, our minds go directly to Spring. Projects begin to add up, and it’s all we can do to wait on old man winter to disappear. I have a list started of my own, and more than a few items have been carried over from last year. There’s just only so much time and man power if you are do-it-yourselfers like my husband and I. So, in an attempt to feel productive, I have been giving spaces around the house a fresh look . If you have a small entryway like me, you know how difficult it can be to not only find items to fit but also create a functional space. I realize there are smaller entryways than mine, but I hope you are still able to gather some fresh inspo.
First and foremost, allow me to introduce my newest occupant. This gorgeous vintage chandelier was a Christmas present, and it literally makes me smile everyday. This beauty is just a small glimpse into the spectacular finds my friend, Pam (owner of Born in the Barn) debuts at her annual barn sale. I have been on the hunt for the perfect chandelier, and my small entryway is now complete with this delicate fixture of farmhouse glam.
Out with the Christmas greens, and in with the tulips 😉 Faux tulips that is. I see nothing wrong with displaying spring blooms this time of year, especially if it brightens your mood. After all, you can find fresh tulips at your local grocery store 😀
I began by removing everything but the Hello and Home Sweet Home signs. We recently purchased some new bookshelves for the wall that used to house my gallery wall, so I have a few white shelves not in use. Instead of the arrow that used to hang above my 3 hooks, I hung one shelf, and I love the character it adds, and the fact that it makes the space even more functional if needed. I simply centered the bench, added more hats, and placed the market tote on the bench instead of a pillow.
A Few Looks at Before
I obviously adore my straw market tote 🙂
Small Entryway, More Function
Even though much is the same, I am really digging the changes. Our small entryway has taken on new functionality and charm. I hope you enjoyed this little refresh and can find inspiration when tackling your own small space. If you are interested in the peel and stick wallpaper used for this wall, click here. I get a lot of questions about where to purchase the small bench that occupies this space. It happens to be a hand me down my mom gave me, and I just gave it a fresh coat of chalk paint. I searched the internet and have linked a few options below. Links to the shops where other items can be purchased are also included at the end of this post.
Faux tulips – Afloral
Grainsack Farmhouse sign – My Trusted Treasures
Hello word sign – Start at Home
Peel and Stick Wallpaper – Wallpops.com
Home Sweet Home Sign – Love & Grey
Now, if I’m being totally honest I know it’s the end of January, but it feels like Christmas was just a few days ago! Maybe that’s because I just took down my Christmas tree, but seriously how is it almost February? See you soon friends!

Ashley, you are too kind! Thank you so much for stopping by 💗
Great entrance, Martha. I just stopped over from the Friday Friends Parade LP. Your foyer has all the necessities and charm that our entrances need. Love the wallpaper, too – Thanks for the link. Also, love the crate used as a boot/shoe rack. Super inspiring! Thanks for sharing.
Darlene, hello and nice to meet you! Thanks so much for your visit and kind remarks 💗
Martha, How darling! I love the changes, that shelf is giving me ideas. Also, the chandy is the perfect addition, unique and beautiful. Totally inspired by you girlie! We are honored you joined our linky party and hope you will link up each week! It’s going to be great fun. Blessings Julie & Jodie

Kristi, thank you for your incredible support 💖
Thanks for sharing! This looks large to me.
Consider standing at your door, where the throw rug ends begins our cellar steps. Two doors are on the left and right of the little rug, going to kitchen and den. Everyone enters this doorway! Friends are always welcome at the back door. Remember?
I have a few coat hugs, an interesting light shade, a few framed bird prints on the wall with the hand railing.
Any decorating suggestions would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See someone always has a smaller entrance. HA! HA!
I am trying to picture your small space, would love to see photos!! Can you email me a few shots to marthaknake@gmail.com ?
Believe me, I know there are smaller spaces, but I have seen some interesting and charming options, and I hope to help! Thanks so much for commenting, and have a great day!
