When you spend a vast amount of time in your home office like I do, it’s important to create a place where you can maximize productivity. For me, my office space must be pretty! I am able to get so much done when everything is neat and tidy.
Welcome to my Office Space
Christmas really is the best time of the year, isn’t it? I don’t think one can spread too much cheer. Snuggling around the warm glow of Christmas lights is comforting, so I decided to add a small amount of ambiance to one of the most used rooms in our home. Two mini table top trees and some twinkly lights was all it took.
My Inspiration
I decorated in here last year, but for some reason, I just wasn’t feeling it this year. That is until I recently took a virtual tour of my friend, Joan’s, (2 Ladies and a Chair) home. She has a gorgeous office space, and the small amount of Christmas sparkle she added made such a big impact. You can see for yourself here.
Our office used to be a bedroom. This shared space is cozy, but a better word for it is TIGHT! None the less, we both spend a lot of time in here so making it pretty is important to me. A few Christmas items sprinkled in with my everyday decor added instant holiday cheer.
I love fresh flowers, and Trader Joe’s selection this week was too good to pass up. I bought pink roses and a pink Christmas cactus for the finishing touch.
This grouping sits on the opposite wall from mine and Glenn’s desks. I found that fun garland at Michaels. I already had that pastel grouping of wooden trees, and the vintage bottle brush tree was purchased earlier in the season from Ruby Jewel. Probably my favorite item in this space is my letter board from Krumpet’s Home Decor. You guys, they have it ALL! Now to up my quote game..
Functional AND Festive
It’s important that my office space remain functional, so I left key items at my finger-tips, but switched out some everyday decor for Christmas trees. I also re-arranged just a little by moving my lamp to the opposite side of my desk. I shopped my home for a more functional basket to hold my Christmas wrapping paper which now doubles as festive decor.

Hola. De donde es la silla?
Hi. I love that desk and your style. It is exactly what I want for my sewing room. I understand it was old and you made some “edits” to it, but I have a handy husband. Would you mind letting me know the dimensions please? length and width of each side of the “L”? Thanks in advance, Angela
Hi! It measures 36′ wide on the longer side of the L and 21″ on the shorter side of the L with a 5″ middle. So the L is rounded if that makes sense. The width is 22.25″ on each of the sides and the corner is 29″ from the center. Hope that helps!
Hi where did you get the desk?
Hello, thanks for your visit! This desk is so darn old, 30 years… I took it apart. It used to have a corner hutch also. I just painted it with white chalk paint. I’m sorry I can’t source it.
I love the desk and chair where did you purchase from ?
I wish so much I could tell you, but it’s an old desk that used to have a hutch attached and we removed it and I painted it with Chalk Paint.
Very pretty! I love the little touches of pink.
Oh thank you Susan, I just love this small space. I haven’t had fresh flowers in so long, they brightened my weekend so much!
