Welcome old friends! If you are joining me for the first time, I am so pleased you have stopped by ♥ I am honored and thrilled to have joined this Fall Blog Hop with so many amazing bloggers. I can’t wait to inspire you when creating a fall tablescape.
Velvet Pumpkins Took Center Stage
Decorating for fall has moved into first place as my favorite, and I give full credit to the luxurious velvet pumpkins making their grand entrance for the year. As a matter of fact, I started scheming up ideas to display them while hanging on to the last bits of Summer. But enough about my velvet pumpkin obsession!
If you are arriving after admiring Sheila’s blog, Maison De Cinq thank you for making the visit. Sheila is truly a gem, and I am blessed to have gotten to know this lovely lady. Her style is exquisite and timeless. I find myself visiting often for loads of inspiration.
Welcome to Our Kitchen
Come on in and pull up a seat! Our kitchen is a constant bustle and my favorite times are when it is filled with the laughter of friends and family. Our kitchen truly is the center of our home, however our table may be a tad too large for the space. Luckily, I’m all about cozy, so grab your cup of coffee (or wine) and make yourself at home.
Let’s Get To It!
As I stated before, whenever the season changes, my mind immediately scurries to ideas for the next festive tablescape. As you can probably see, our kitchen and dining area are combined. We don’t have a dedicated dining room, I actually opted out of that 19 years ago when we built this home. However, had I known I would be blogging about home decor someday, I probably would have kept it in the plans. 😉
This year, I schemed up a softer, pastel palette, and was convinced I would be able to pull off the warm and coziness of Fall without using traditional autumn colors. First thing on the list was the centerpiece, which you can see in the blog post here.
I knew I wanted to adorn the plates with mini pumpkins, but the first place I checked wasn’t the local super market. My first velvet pumpkin was purchased from Love Feast Shop 2 falls ago, and I was instantly hooked. It was the softest, most luscious turquoise plump of perfection I had ever held in the palm of my hand. After browsing their new selection of Hot Skwash velvet pumpkins this summer, I eagerly ordered what I pictured to be a perfect color contrast, and friends, it was love at first sight.
And Just So You Know…
Each Hot Skwash pumpkin is handcrafted in silk velvet, and topped with a real, organic stem signed in gold by the artist. They are available in a variety of sizes, and each one is as beautiful as the next.
I believe the element of gold brings a hint of luxury and class to any setting. Here, gold showcases a subtle, yet dynamic contrast against the warm colored pumpkins and dried green hydrangeas. Seeing my vision come to life is always a thrill and, as a matter of fact, was even better than anticipated. <3
Once again, I turned to a faithful friend to complete my vision. I purchased the cedar branch placemats, mint green salad plates, white napkins, table runner, and gold wine glasses from Pier 1 Imports over the years.
A velvet pumpkin with Swarovski crystals? Yes, please 😉
Additionally, when bringing fall decor into the rest of the kitchen, I prefer to add small touches without doing a complete over-haul.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your visit, and hope you come back again and again. Please continue on to Amie, Meme Hill. If you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment!
