Happy Hump Day! We are full speed ahead into the month of January already. This Midwest weather sure is crazy lately. Looking to be in the 60’s tomorrow?!? I am feeling optimistic that our dear friend, Mr. Groundhog, will surely NOT see his shadow in a few weeks! 😀
Another winter holiday is approaching at a quick pace, so I thought it would be fun to share a super easy DIY for Valentine’s Day <3 How many red wine lovers out there? I am raising 2 hands 😉
There are many fun projects you can create utilizing wine corks. Last year, I decided to use my red stained corks to create a simple heart to display in my decor. It’s only function is to sit and look pretty. This is super easy, and you wine lovers most likely have enough to make a few to give to your girlfriends <3
- Black paper
- Wine corks (stained red)
- Hot glue gun
- Extra cardboard backing (optional)
First trace or free hand a heart on your black paper.
Next, draw an outside line following the shape, and cut the outside line.
This is to give a platform for you to glue the corks to.
This doesn’t have to be perfect, you won’t see your frame.
Before you begin hot gluing the corks, you may need to cut off the end of the cork (not the stained side) to provide a flat edge.
Simply hot glue the corks one by one around the frame.
Optional: Cut an exact replica of the heart out of cardboard for a more secure frame, otherwise, it will be bendable.
Thanks for taking the time to visit <3 I hope you enjoy this simple craft, let me know what you think. I will be sharing more Valentine’s Day prep soon!
