Welcome to a simple, cozy, and charming Christmas tour with some of my favorite bloggers. I am so glad you have come to join us for the most festive time of the year! As we approach Thanksgiving, I pray you all enjoy this special time with your family and friends.
Decorating early absolutely does not take away from Thanksgiving, it’s just home decor, the meaning stands firm. For all of you who decorate the day after, or even later, this is to help you gather some fun new ideas, and incorporate them. I am pleased to share a glimpse into our cozy living room and Christmas table in hopes of inspiring you. Last year I ventured into a more neutral territory, and I am loving that same light and airy feel again this year with pops of red.
I keep my mantle pretty simple with the TV posing a few styling dilemmas. Glenn and I have been brainstorming on a way to hide it. I almost slapped a big wreath over it, but I just didn’t think that would give the same vibe I envision.
I found a simple ice berry garland and strung some twinkly lights. In this case, I definitely prefer to keep my decor uniform to balance out the TV.
I think I have had these pewter stocking holders for almost 20 years now. In my eyes, they are timeless.
I purchased these faux fur stockings last year, and absolutely love them. In fact, I have incorporated faux fur throughout the house, it creates such a cozy feel this time of year. Hey!! Pottery Barn is offering 30% off all fur!!
Speaking of cozy, can we just have fun with pillows? I have embraced the title of pillow hoarder. Lots of pillows are such a fun way to express your style. So many great sayings and verses, there is literally any phrase imaginable, and sometimes it just “speaks your family”. The great thing about so many of my throw pillows is the fact that they are covers, and can be quickly switched out with the seasons, folded up, and take up minimal storage space!
You all know I adore Porter Lane Home, and highly recommend these pillow covers to you all!
The kitty isn’t faux fur though, he’s real 🙂 Hank was helping me style the coffee table for appetizers and drinks. Guess he got bored.
I added some stuffing into the tree this year to give a faux snowy look and added a sprinkle of red ornaments.
If you viewed my Thanksgiving tablescape, I stayed true to my promise of bringing over the same plates and chargers, click here to view if you missed it. These fun appetizer plates and festive goblets jazz up the Christmas vibe. Porter Lane Home also provides gorgeous table linens. These place mats and table runner are new this year, but the napkins are from last year. You can also ask Erin to custom design your table swag or pillow covers.
Walk back into the living room, and I will share a few small changes to our gallery wall and window seat.
I mean, this pillow.. 😀
New curtains = room transformation!! My boss, who also happens to be a dear friend, introduced the idea of adding curtains to this area. I had never given it a thought, but it was genius! We have this same look in our bedroom with the shortened rods. Gives off an illusion and fulfills a design need. We just hung them last evening, so I quick stuck this photo in here, but they deserve a better capture during the day light.
I recently split our entry way into 2 small sections on either side of the door.
And now we’ve come full circle. If you missed our cozy Christmas lodge style bedroom, please visit here. I made 1 small change since then, and now I think it’s complete <3
Here’s a view of the other side of the bedroom. I kept it very simple.
Thank you for visiting our simple, yet cozy home. I hope you’ll join me again soon for Part 2 where I will show more simple touches in the kitchen. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, and be sure to head through the rest of the beautiful Christmas tours in this blog hop.
And check back Friday after Thanksgiving, as the bloggers below will be sharing their Christmas tours then.
