Welcome back friends. Maybe you are here because you are a loyal follower, maybe you saw my post on Instagram, FB, or Twitter. Maybe you don’t really decorate much at all, but the word “simple” in my name caught your attention on social media, so you figured you’d stop by. No matter the reason, I am so glad you are here. Simple and cozy is a must around these parts, and I am going to show you how many options there are using only 3 pumpkins when decorating.
My sister doesn’t go all out when it comes to decorating her home. For one thing, she has a little 🙂 His name is Henry James, and my heart is full after spending all day with him yesterday. We snap-chatted til our cheeks hurt. McDonald’s was on the menu for lunch, we did some light shopping, hung a bat garland, and decorated the window with sticky “Happy Halloween” gummies 😀 . And… might I add, he took a 2.5 hour nap like a good boy! Not sure I can say he is always this well behaved, but hey, I’m storing this one up for good measure.
While H.J. crept into dream land, I played around and styled multiple vignettes using the same 3 pumpkins. I used cloth pumpkins, so there was no worries of them breaking or Henry getting hurt. So if you don’t decorate a lot, or struggle with how to style a space using minimal pieces, or have littles running around, I hope you find inspiration and confidence to move forward.
I started out really really simple 😉 and it looks charming just like that. No fuss, no extras.
Cute trio right? These pumpkins are from Target, in case you are wondering 🙂 .
Want to add some height, add a basket.
I changed it just slightly by adding some more pillows to the couch.
Looks super cozy now doesn’t it? Simple and charming!
Want to go a step further? Add some lanterns.
Lanterns provide soo many possibilities in your decor. You can stick a candle inside, fill them with all sorts of vase fillers, greenery, and in this case white pumpkins.
Still very simple, but maybe not as Henry proof. But now Emily has options for when hosting adult company with no littles 😉 .
I did the same thing with her fireplace. Simple trio and a basket.
I replaced the basket with one lantern, and stuck the small pumpkin inside.
How about just the large lantern?
It’s cute right? So now, just move things over a bit and separate them a bit.
Let’s get crazy now, and add another basket filled with a few cozy items.
Here I just snatched 2 pillows from her couch, but I went shopping in her home and found a better pair.
Such a cozy vignette, and for the most part, KID friendly 😀
One more idea involving the whole fireplace.
Leave the breakables on the hearth and stick the pumpkins in front 😉
Gorgeous!! So many options, all charming! I do hope you enjoyed these super simple styling techniques.
Do you struggle with this sort of thing? Would you like to see more? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Have a wonderful day!
