This post is a collaboration with Gable Lane. All opinions are my own.
Who likes surprises? I do! I am seriously child-like when it comes to presents. I love being surprised, but the wait almost kills me at times…and that’s just it, sometimes I spoil the surprise because I am so intuitive. The trick is actually pulling off the surprise. I am one of those people who anticipates giving as much as receiving. I get so much joy out of watching someone open a gift that I KNOW they are going to love, and it kills me not telling them before they have a chance to open it. Christmas time and birthdays are pretty fun around here. The girls have caught on to my sneaky ways though, so they have made it pretty hard for me to guess or even want to guess what’s in the package for me. They have gotten stingy with clues. I try and guess, and I just won’t stop bugging them for the answer (especially if I feel I am getting close). It was all fun and games until I started guessing what my gifts were each time… oops. Now why do I try and spoil it when I just said I like to be surprised?! I don’t know! The anticipation gets the best of me, but my happiness doesn’t diminish if I am able to guess, I promise 😉 .
So I am super excited to tell you about Gable Lane Crates… have you heard of them yet? It’s such a cool way to shop home decor! I just received my first crate last Saturday, and couldn’t wait to post a review on the amazing items inside! I don’t even know where to start…my brain is going faster than I can type right now. Basically, Gable Lane Crates does the shopping for you. They shop handmade boutiques and other contributors and combine the best home decor items all together in one crate! If you sign up for their newsletter via email, you will know exactly when the next crate sale is and get a sneak peek inside. For instance, last week they debuted the Vignette crates for August, click here to see for yourself. They will be on sale til July 22nd or while supplies last. They will show you a sneak peek of what’s inside, but not every item. This is perfect for me 😉 You choose which crate best suits your taste, and then wait patiently for it to arrive. The items will be the trendiest neutral pieces that will fit any decor style!
It was Christmas in July when my Farm Sweet Farm Crate arrived last weekend. And I LOVED every item inside. Talk about a fun surprise gift!! Yes, please!
First thing I did was pop some zinnias in this sweet White Embossed Vase! Goes perfect with French Farmhouse style.
The crate came with 2 different sized Wire Baskets with lids. Home decor that is both pretty and functional 🙂 . The preserved Boxwood Cone was a total surprise! I love my Boxwood Topiary so this made my day.
I absolutely LOVED the Farmhouse no. 5 sign and Clipboard Picture Frame with the FARMALL photo.
Simple greens look cute in that little vase too, huh?
I was planning on painting the kitchen this summer, but this crate full of goodies inspired me to get it done sooner rather than later!
As you can see, I moved stuff around all week before finally finding the right home for each item. Ultimately, I decided above the cabinets was the perfect spot for the sign.
And the wire baskets and boxwood fit perfect on my side table.
Tell your husbands about this! What a perfect gift idea, and he will love the heads up. Plus, you don’t know everything you are getting, so it’s like HE’s surprising you!! Right?!?! 😀
After I re-painted the kitchen, the vase and picture frame found their home on my open shelves.
What do you all think? I had so much fun styling and restyling, and I am sure nothing will stay in the same spot for long 😉 .
