When it comes to decorating our homes, we all have different tastes. We can put words to that individual preference like coastal, modern, country, shabby chic, and so on. But there are no limits! We each have our own flavor, and who’s to say we can’t feel coastal and country on any given day? Lucky for us, the internet provides thousands of outlets and how-to sites ready to curate each detail to make our homes unique and beautiful to fit our individual liking.
My dear friend, Mary, has exquisite style in her home and how she dresses. I have known Mary since childhood. She became one of my biggest role models in high school and I still look up to her today. Mary creates an ambiance of both elegance and sophistication. A visit to her home usually includes scooting up to the beautiful bar in her front room and having a glass of wine. I have never left Mary’s home uninspired. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. This woman has positive energy radiating off her. It’s no wonder it’s difficult to catch her in the yard these days, as she is traveling all over the nation promoting Quinnspiration! Follow her on Facebook and I guarantee you will be inspired to live a better life!
When I asked Mary if I could take pictures to show her decorating style, she didn’t hesitate in opening her home to all of you. Her home sits on a lake and provides a quiet sanctuary for guests and family. Mary and Scott enjoy their home, from the laundry room to their guest bedrooms. They have renovated their home throughout the years and have enjoyed every minute of it. She says, “Your space reflects your heart and your values, that’s what makes your home.”
Their “Entertainment Room” is where they enjoy time with family and friends. It displays an ambiance that makes you question if you are really in a home and not some upscale martini bar. They provided warmth, welcome, and a let go and have fun atmosphere. I have sat at this charming bar several times enjoying a glass of wine and sacred girl time.
When Mary decided to redo her husband’s bathroom, her mind went immediately to Harley Davidson. They love the wind in their face and the freedom of “no destination” to enjoy the ride. Clear cut glass shower doors to mirror his hand drawn framed picture and stainless fixtures reflect the chrome of his bike.
Their laundry room even has simple yet elegant touches. I love how she decorates each room in her home.
Their guest bedrooms have their own personality from beach to jungle. The “Beach Room” has a sunrise that brightens the oranges in the room yet reflects the ocean’s blue tones.
The “Jungle Room” has brought the outdoors indoors with Earth tones of brown and green. Mary shared that the rocking chair in this room was her great great grandmothers’. She said “It certainly brings the strength of the forests and grounds this room with love.”
Their master suite is bold with it’s sleek black and green color palette. This room definitely takes on a contemporary flair. I love how it houses feminine and masculine attributes that creates an inviting space for each of them.
What’s not to love about this master bathroom? Without a doubt this room provides a relaxing retreat after a long day. The guest towels add a chic touch when hosting out of town friends.
Their living room has an open concept with the kitchen. The ongoing theme of bringing the outside in was important when decorating this space. She chose countertops with the wood trim and went for sleek black appliances. It doesn’t take long to get a sense of what is most important to Mary and Scott when visiting their home. Photos of their grandchildren are lovingly displayed throughout. Each one, undoubtedly, feels important and loved as their pictures and artwork are prominently featured. She went all out decorating for Fall! I found inspiration, did you?
Love this glass table off the kitchen. Many sunsets have hosted a superior backdrop. The space is so elegant.
I hope you find as much inspiration from her home as I have. Happy Decorating!
