Welcome back, friends! Do you ever get the urge to redecorate but you don’t have the time or inclination to go out and purchase new items? I don’t keep everything, but I keep a lot, and love to make the old new and fresh again. Shopping my home is certainly something I do frequently. What does it mean, exactly, when I say “shop my home”? It means a couple different things to me, and I will share more in future posts; this week in particular I shopped my to-be-recycled jars and bottles in my garage.
With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share some quick and easy ways to shop your home for items to decorate with if you are hosting your mom for her special day 🙂
First item up – Wine Bottles, and don’t worry, if you aren’t a wine lover like myself, I will show how pretty jars in different shapes and sizes can work just as well.
Fill your sink with really hot water and the labels will practically melt off the bottles. I prefer the clear ones, but the colored ones are pretty too, especially the cobalt blue <3 . I used fresh cut lilacs to spruce up my bottles, hope you enjoy, you can almost smell them, can’t you?
Most of us have mason jars, I love my blue jars, they are the perfect hue of turquoise after all 😀 .
Pickle jars, sauce jars, etc. I am so happy not everything has turned to plastic. It’s more fun to re-purpose glass than plastic in this case. I painted them with white chalk paint, fun and easy.
And finally, if you picked up any of these darling Coke bottles from Target this season, how can you go wrong with these? Have a good week everyone!
